Film company A24 has released the first official trailer of the Amy Winehouse documentary.
Director Asif Kapadia is eyeing a July release for the movie, which would coincide with the 4-year anniversary of the singer’s passing.
“How big do you think you’re going to be?” the interviewer asks. “I don’t. I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous,” Winehouse responds. “I don’t think I could handle. I would probably go mad, you know what I mean? I would go mad.”
Amy was known for her soulful voice, bouffant hairdo and numerous tattoos, struggled very publicly with drugs and alcohol during a career in which she recorded two albums and won six Grammys (one posthumous). She died from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27 on July 23, 2011.
