According to The New York Times, Drake will curate an exhibition at New York auction house Sotheby’s this spring.
The exhibition — which opens April 28 and runs through July 12 — will highlight the work of contemporary African-American artists. Drizzy’s role will be to pick music for different listening stations throughout the exhibit.
Drake isn’t exactly known for his budding art collection. In fact quite the opposite. So how did he score a gig like this? Turn out, he has friends in high places.
“The idea for the Drake collaboration came through a personal connection within Sotheby’s contemporary art department,” the Times reports, adding that “he is not being paid” for the job.
My two-cents: that’ll be interesting to see how far his interests span.
