On the heels of his recent “Blurred Lines” loss, Pharrell has a little good news. The CFDA— the non-profit trade organization for North-American designers—named Pharrell the Fashion Icon of the year.
They announced it on Twitter Wednesday (March 18). The award goes to an individual whose style has made a significant impact on popular culture on an international stage.
No question Pharrell has earned the nomination. He’s done so many different capsules and design projects, you lose track of them all. There’s his Uniqlo range, his collection with Moynat, the Adidas pieces, the G-Star Raw for the Oceans jeans, the Moncler lunettes… And that’s not to mention his work on fashion films (starring alongside Cara Delevingne for Chanel) or the many art-meets-high-style parties he’s performed at in recent years.
Last year’s winner was Rihanna – so he better start thinking about his outfit real quick.
