By this time next month, Apple fans will have the option of buying a gold version of the latest MacbookPro or Macbook Air.
While it doesn’t actually cost more, it screams high-end which is enough to get loyal Apple lovers to the store.
This new MacBook, unveiled at Apple’s “Spring Forward” event, isn’t a replacement for the Air or the Pro. Instead, it sits in between them on the family tree. It will have a 12-inch Retina display and is described as the thinnest, most energy-efficient computer yet.
The new MacBook will start shipping April 10 with a base price of $1,299 for 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage. An upgrade to 512GB of flash storage and a few other modifications runs $1,599.
