Jas Prince, son of Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince, is now joining the party of people demanding money from Birdman and Cash Money Reocrds.
According to Jas, Birdman has been holding out on compensation he was promised for bringing Drake to Cash Money. TMZ reports that Jas has only received $2 million from Birdman’s label, when he was promised a whole lot more. Now Drake has reportedly made as much as $40 million in profits for the label during his career. In an effort to shed some light on the label’s business practices, Jas Prince is calling Baby out, demanding that he opens the books.
This isn’t the first time Jas has had issues with compensation. Back in 2012, Prince and along with his father filed suit against Drizzy’s management team for the same reasons, alleging that they are entitled to compensation and royalties for launching Drizzy’s career.
As we know, Jas is the latest man in line suing Birdman. Last month, Weezy filed a lawsuit against the label claiming they owed him money from completing of Tha Carter V. Although the original sum was $10 million, Wayne is currently suing Birdman for a whopping $51 million. Tyga made his feelings toward Birdman public over the past few months, taking to Twitter to vent his frustrations with the label. More recently, Tyga was on Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club yesterday (Feb. 17), where explained his concern for Cash Money’s business habits, saying he hasn’t been compensated fairly either. Turk, former Hot Boy, is asking for a total of $1.3 million in damages from CMR. “The reason why I’m suing now is because I realized that me being loyal has gotten me nowhere in this business,” said Turk. “It’s my attorney’s decision that it’s in my best interest to sue after several attempts to settle this matter privately. Now we wait for the next chapter wodie.”
