Most heads who do remember the magic between Missy and Timbaland have been patiently waiting for her return to music. However that patience left when we all saw Missy alongside Katy Perry at Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1. We want music now!
Good news: She has been in the studio with longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland, cooking something up.
On Tuesday night, Missy took to Twitter to share a photo of her and Timbaland in the studio. “Me & @Timbaland bk 2 the drawing board studio dirty beats,” she tweeted.
It’s been 10 years since she’s released a full-length studio album. The Cookbook was released on July 4, 2005 and peaked at No. 1 on Top Rap Albums chart and No. 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
After her 2015 Super Bowl halftime set, Elliott’s albums and song downloads earned a 996 percent sales rise in the United States, according to Nielsen Music.
