After pleading not guilty in a Compton courthouse on Tuesday (Feb 3), Suge Knight suffered a serious blood clot that was potentially fatal.
It was previously reported that Knight began experiencing chest pains after he was taken from the holding area at the courthouse. He was rushed to the hospital for what was thought to be a panic attack. At the time, Knight’s lawyer nor Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida would give any details on Suge’s health status or what he was being treated for. However, now sources from Knight’s family and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials revealed he indeed suffered a “medical emergency.”
The former CEO of Death Row Records had a similar incident three months ago in a jail cell in Las Vegas when he was rushed to a local hospital after suffering a blood clot in his lung that nearly took his life.
The clots began forming after Suge was shot six times at Chris Brown’s pre-VMAs party at 1OAK. Suge has been moved to Long Beach Memorial hospital, put on blood thinners and is handcuffed to his bed under 24/7 watch by police, according to TMZ.
