While everyone is trying to analyze the condition of her voice, Mimi has confirmed her first Las Vegas residency at Caesar’s Palace. Translation = dollars without the worry of ads, sales, likes, etc.
She shared her big news on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “I’m going to do my first ever residency in Vegas at Caesars. This is a special event for me. And again, I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album Number 1’s, and this is now the updated version with 18 of them. Hopefully other people will enjoy this. I’ve never done this before,” she said as she teared-up on Ellen’s couch (due to air today, Jan 15).
Confirmation of Mariah’s residency comes on the back of reports Celine Dion is postponing her dates at Caesars Palace. The Canadian-born star was expected to return to the Colosseum in March but, according to various published reports, she’s pushing back her music engagements to look after her ill husband Rene Angelil.
My two cents: Congrats to Mimi. I know it’s been a tough 2014. And prayers up for Celine. She’s been tending to her husband for years now. I know that’s tough.
