Jay Z sat down with Gov. Cuomo on Wednesday afternoon to discuss potential changes to New York law in the wake of the controversy over the NYPD killing of Eric Garner.
The meeting took place in the governor’s Midtown Manhattan office, a Cuomo spokeswoman said. Spokeswoman Melissa DeRosa went on to saythe two men “had a productive conversation about doing a top-to-bottom review of the criminal-justice system, and how we can all work together to pass a reform package that ensures equality in the eyes of the law.”
The meeting was first reported by the liberal Daily Kos Web site, which noted that Jay Z “has paid and is still paying for the tuition of the children of NYPD shooting victim Sean Bell,” and has also given money to support “people working on the ground” in Ferguson, Mo., where a white cop was recently cleared in the shooting of an unarmed black teen.
My two-cents: See…you never knew that about Hov did you?
