Looks like Keyshia Cole won’t be getting off scott free in this assault case.
We remember Key was arrested for attacking Sabrina Mercadel in the wee hours of the morning at Birdman’s condo back in September. She left Mercadel with scratches and bruises after she saw her coming out of Birman’s bathroom. Cole assumed the woman was sexually involved with the Cash Money CEO but Mercadel states that her relationship with Birdman was “strictly plutonic.” However it was later revealed she was actually a longtime employee of the multi-million dollar company. Mercadel is now pressing charges against the singer, according to TMZ.
Back in October, it was revealed Cole would avoid going to trial but it seems the tables have turned. Mercedes is filing a $1 million lawsuit and seeking punitive damages for battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and premises liability, according to Westside Today.
My two-cents: Yep, she won’t get $1 million, but she’ll get a little something.
