Here’s some random news that caught my eye…
Nick Carter (Remember Nick? He’s a former Back Street Boy) is blaming Paris Hilton for his side effects of drug use. Nick — who’s been sober for the last 5 years — says the ecstasy along with cocaine and huge amounts of vodka has screwed up his life. He believes the ecstasy has affected his brain and is the reason he’s suffering serious bouts of depression. All the details can be found in his new memoir, “Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It.” SMH… really??? I can not believe this grown man is suggesting that he had no accountability in the situation. I feel no pity and I hope Paris sues his ass. No one forced him to use drugs.
M.I.A., who appeared in the 2012 Super Bowl half time show with Madonna, is in a legal battle with the NFL. If you recall, M.I.A. thought it would be cute to stick up her middle finger and mouth “ I don’t give a sh*t” during the performance “Give Me All Your Luvin’.” As you can imagine – especially after the Janet Jackson fiasco – this did not go over well w/ the NFL. So they hit her with a $1.5 million lawsuit. Her rebuttal: “She is going to go public with an explanation of how ridiculous it was for the NFL and its fans to devote such furor to this incident, while ignoring the genocide occurring in her home country and several other countries, topics she frequently speaks to,” her lawyer says. ”Of course, the NFL’s claimed reputation for wholesomeness is hilarious, in light of the weekly felonies committed by its stars, the bounties placed by coaches on opposing players, the homophobic and racist comments uttered by its players, the complete disregard for the health of players and the premature deaths that have resulted from same, and the raping of public entities ready to sacrifice public funds to attract teams.” SMH…. Here is another incident of how people attempt to deflect from their own faults. Let’s be clear, no one is arguing that the NFL is a sport for saints. However, that’s not what this suit is about. I can assure you that M.I.A. knew full well that mouthing profanity and flipping the bird was 100% against the rules. Apparently she believes that her creative freedom puts her above the law. It’s the principle.
