Frank Ocean’s Father Sues Russell Simmons

And you thought you had family issues.

Frank Ocean’s father (yep his dad), Calvin Cooksey, has hit Russell Simmons with a $142 million lawsuit.

TMZ reports that Calvin is seeking damages from Simmons in response to his Global Grind website allegedly unfairly portraying him as a deadbeat father. He has not been present in Frank Ocean’s life since the singer was six years old, for which he blames the singer’s mother, calling her “money grubbing.”

Calvin claims that Global Grind’s alleged slander against him will result in future loss of income, calling himself a singer, writer and inventor. He also takes issue with the website not using his proper name.

Back in 2012, Frank Ocean tweeted that his father was suing him for a million dollars. Wow, sounds like Calvin needs to get a job.
