BET President, Stephen Hill, has issued an apology via Twitter over the Blue Ivy fallout.
As we recall, On Monday night, Aug. 25, Beyoncé’s loyal fanbase, the Beyhive, took Chris Brown’s girlfriend Karrueche Tran to task after she recited a tasteless joke about Bey and Jay Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy.
In a skit titled “top six things Blue Ivy thought about the VMAs,” Karreuche read,”‘I really did wake up like this because my parents never combed my hair,'” Karrueche said as Blue Ivy, before laughing. “Sorry, Blue! I love you!”

(1/4) Last night on 106 & Park there was a stupid, unthoughtful joke made about a young child.

(2/4)We apologize publically to the child’s parents (and have done so privately) and we have taken punitive actions with those responsible.

(3/4)It was very bad judgment and we will serve you much better in the future.

(4/4) Oh, and please don’t hate on Karrueche; it was NOT her fault. We also apologize to her for putting her in that position.

For her role, Kae issued an apology via IG. However she maintains she only read a script that was not written by her.
My two-cents: Hopefully a lesson was learned here. Of course BET accepts fault in this situation. It was tasteless and penned on behalf of the entertainment company. HOWEVER, Kae has personal responsibility as well. I’ve read quite a few sites noting she “had to read the script.” Friends, as adults we all need to understand the value of integrity and consequences. We always have a choice and as a new entrant into the world of entertainment, she has learned that a desire for fame came result in personal turmoil if good judgment is not used.
