She may have come at the end of the night, but the VMAs ended up being all about Beyoncé.
Out of her eight nominations, she picked up four moonmen for Best Cinematography, Best Video w/ a Social Message, Best Collaboration and the night’s most esteemed prize — the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
In a clear attempt to shoot down the escalating rumors of her marital trouble, Hov and daughter Blue Ivy came onstage to present Bey with the Vanguard. Jay held the couple’s daughter in his arms, gave Beyonce a huge kiss, then awarded the prize to the woman he called, “the greatest living entertainer.”
