Oxford Dictionary adds YOLO, Side-boob and Hot Mess

The Oxford Dictionary goes ratchet.

The perceived protectors of the English language has added a plethora of words to their online database. Among the new words: acquihire, amazeballs, binge-watch, bro hug, clickbait, cray (as in cray cray), douchebaggery, FML, hot mess, humblebrag, mansplain, side boob, side-eye, SMH, subtweet, vape, YOLO, throw shade and zonkey.

Now, apparently there are two forms of the dictionary. The first fun fact is Oxford Dictionary isn’t Oxford English Dictionary. Oxford Dictionary collects modern uses of words, while OED requires words to have more history. Wow… who knew.

Here are a couple of example definitions: To “throw shade” is to speak disrespectfully about someone and “hot mess” is someone who looks disheveled or unkempt.
