Is WorldStarHipHop headed to the big screen? If Russell Simmons (&Paramount’s Insurge Pictures) have their way.
Paramount bought a pitch for the site after How To Make It In America creator Ian Edelman presented it. He came up with the original pitch on the site, which he plans to direct and is scripting it for Paramount’s microbudget branch.
Russell has come on board to produce the film along with Douglas Banks, Trevor Engelson and site founder Q Worldstar. Def Pictures, Woven, Underground, and WorldStarHipHop respectively will also be credited. They are looking to shoot the film in New York City this fall.
Well that’s interesting. I can on one hand how many times I’ve visited this site.
