Update: Remy Ma is Now Free

remyma2Free at last … Remy Ma is free at last.

After serving six years of her eight-year prison sentence, Bronx rapper Remy Ma was released from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women on Friday. A rep from Remy’s camp confirmed her release to Revolt. And to make sure it was real, she followed up her release by posting “I’m Back” on Instagram.

It was believed that she was to be released Thursday morning. However, according to published release was being held as a result of disciplinary action.

In 2008, Remy was convicted of intentional assault after shooting a member of her entourage over a missing sum of $3,000 in 2007. Ma argued the shooting was an accident, but the courts ruled against her.

Remy Ma rose to fame as part of the legendary Terror Squad alongside Fat Joe and the late Big Pun. She featured on the hip-hop collective’s No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Lean Back” in 2004.

Today (Aug 2) on her first full day back, she’s already been pictured in the studio with DJ Khaled.
