So Frank Ocean was spotted in T-shirt donning Chris Brown’s face with text around it that read “Wanted for Domestic Violence.”
It’s kinda funny. I admit that I chuckled. However, this isn’t cool Frank.
I don’t care for Chris Breezy for a plethora of reasons – mostly centered around the fact that he has yet to deal with the demons within – but this vendetta has gone on for too long.
Either Frank should have dealt with Chris at the time of their physical incident or let it go. And it seemed as though he had let it go. In an open letter, Frank penned the following:
“AS A CHILD I THOUGHT IF SOMEONE JUMPED ME IT WOULD RESULT IN ME MURDERING OR MUTILATING A MAN. BUT AS A MAN I AM NOT A KILLER. I’M AN ARTIST AND A MODERN PERSON. I’LL CHOOSE SANITY. NO CRIMINAL CHARGES. NO CIVIL LAWSUIT. FORGIVENESS, ALBEIT DIFFICULT, IS WISDOM. PEACE, ALBEIT TRITE, IS WHAT I WANT IN MY SHORT LIFE. PEACE.” (Frank Ocean’s Tumblr)
The thing about holding on to anger and bitterness is that it hurts you. Anger is mean and toxic. It comes from a dark place. You can’t imagine that something with such dark origins would logically do anything but bring you down. In this case, Frank’s gotta let go and let God. Trust me… Chris will reap and is reaping his just desserts. You can see it all over his face and his frail body. One thing I know for sure, is that the universe has its way of working things out and rewarding you two fold for your injustices. It’s just not always in our timing, but I know for sure that it does happen.
Dear Frank,
Take off the shirt, quit the making the odes dedicated to Chris and focus on yourself. Everything else will work itself out.
