Busta Rhymes stopped by Sway in the Morning show and revealed that after 3 yeas, he was leaving the Cash Money family.
Busta cites creative conflicts during the making of his upcoming album E.L.E. 2 being the culprit.
“For me, with this particular project and all of the sacrifice that went into it — recording the album for five years, I lost Chris Lighty making this album, I lost my father making this album. The shit I was putting into this album, I’m not compromising my vision for it,” he said. “So if I feel like if, in the slightest way, we ain’t facilitating everything necessary for the vision to be seen through and executed in the way that I’ve been envisioning this shit for the last five years, let me live and die in my own own inequity. I just had a conversation with Bird like, ‘Listen, bro. I’m grateful and everything is love with us, but I just gotta see this through the way that I wan’t to see this through.’”
Watch the entire interview. Am I the only one that had no idea that Busta was with Cash Money?? Anyone with eyes could see Cash Money was not a good fit. They have their flagship players. Everyone else is good just to eat. An artist with Busta’s career deserves better. These rappers can’t rap forever. It’s important for them to have a Plan B.
