In a list announced today (July 17) via SnapChat, Beyonce led the pack in with eight VMA nominations. Veteran Eminem and newbie Iggy Azalea were just behind Bey with seven nods apiece.
Also receiving multiple nominations were Jay Z, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams.
Em’s nominations include: Best Hip-Hop (“Berzerk”) and two for “The Monster” with Rihanna (Best Male and Best Collaboration), while Iggy makes her VMA splash thanks to her mega-hit “Fancy,” which will vie for Video of the Year, Best Female and Best Pop. Depending on what kind of nights they have, both Bey (12 total career wins) and Em (11 career wins) could easily make a run for #2 on the all-time list of VMA wins, sliding by Peter Gabriel and Lady Gaga (13) on the way to Madonna mountain (20 career wins).
