Tonight marks the last night New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter will stand in the batter’s box of the MLB All-Star Game as he caps his Major League Baseball career at twenty years at the end of this season.
A key endorser of the Nike’s Jordan Brand, it’s no surprise that the brand has chosen to honor Jeter in his final year. The iconic shoe brand has created the Pay Your #RE2PECT campaign which will honor Jeter throughout the duration of the season.
The first of the campaign will start tonight when a commercial titled “RE2PECT” airs. The visual features sports and entertainment stars – Jay Z, Carmelo Anthony, Rudy Giuliani, Spike Lee, Phil Jackson, Action Bronson, Tiger Woods and of course MJ – providing a hat tip to the baseball icon.
