Oh Is That What They Call It …. Vamping?

I’m an insomniac. I’ve been one since 18 when I first ventured off to college.

My freshman roommate had a horrible respiratory problem that kept me up all night. She was super sweet, but after only a semester I had to yell, “Uncle,” and get the hell out of there.

Unfortunately after just three or so months the damage was done and I’ve rarely been able to sleep normally since. I do get assistance from a very low dosage of Ambien and when I take it properly and there’s no immediate stress on the horizon, I can get some rest. And by taking it properly I mean allowing enough time to wind down and actually sleep.

So with that said … one of my favorite things to do to wind down is to simply surf the net. I’m on the net so much for work, that I’m actually entertained to read IG and twitter comments. Honestly, I can read them for hours. Well apparently, there’s a name for it – vamping.

Vamping is a term used to describe teens on the net in the wee hours of the night. “Scholars” maintain it’s a way for them to gain independence. Apparently they take pics of themselves while online and use the #vamping

So does that term apply to adults too??? Welp, one thing I can promise you I will NOT be taking a pic of myself with this scarf on my head.
