To no surprise, Beyonce supreme on Forbes Celebrity 100 list, which was released Monday. Other celebs rounding out the top ten include Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Katy Perry.
So what’s the formula to Queen B’s success? Well to start, she played 95 shows, bringing in an average $2.4 million per stop, according to Pollstar. She also dropped her most innovative solo album to date. Titled simply Beyoncé, the album achieved platinum status in days.
But Beyoncé doesn’t stop with music — she’s built a small business empire. She earns millions endorsing companies like H&M and Pepsi. She has a line of fragrances with names like Heat, Rise and Pulse. All together Forbes estimated that Beyoncé earned $115 million between June 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014.
Turns out Hov is no slouch himself. He placed #6 on the list with an estimated $60 million in earnings. That comes from a variety of sources, including his latest album, Magna Carta … Holy Grail; dozens of live shows; his growing Roc Nation empire and business ventures ranging from his 40/40 nightclub chain to his D’Ussé cognac.
Just behind him is his newly signed artist Rihanna at No. 8 ($48 million) and singer Katy Perry ($40 million).
Outside of music, LeBron James ($72 million), Oprah ($82 million) and Ellen DeGeneres ($70 million) round out the top 5, ranking No. 2, 4 and 5, respectively.
Even more interesting is where celebs like Diddy, Pharrell and Kanye West placed.
