According to TMZ, the members of YMCMB are still holding the Biebs down.
Despite the release of footage showing Biebs telling a racist joke and recently released racist song, members of YMCMB plan to keep their ties with the crooner.
“Bieber does not have a slave mentality,” said Mack Maine. “He treats his people with respect.” The Young Money president event went as far to say that the Canadian-born pop star “legitimately adopted the culture of the hip hop, African American culture.” Maine also thinks Bieber should be given some sort of a pass due to the age he was during the unfortunate recording.
Against my better judgment, I’m going to go ahead and agree with Mack. In my heart of hearts, I do not believe that Justin is a racist. He clearly admires R&B and hip-hop music and artists. This instead is a case of very poor judgment. The bad part about that is that it happened years ago. So what do you do? Go an apology tour and issue condolences everyday? Or maybe go into hiding? I say neither.
I just read an article which predicted that the Biebs would never recover. My question is who exactly is going to stop him? The fan base that abandoned him years ago. Or is it his growing base including Weezy and Mack that support him? The truth is Justin was already in this grey, transition mode. The very same group that is asserting his demise were already predicting it …. for his new found friendships with African-Americans.
He can’ take the past back. What’s going to be important for him now is how he carries himself going forward.
