Anyone who knows me, knows I’m eagerly awaiting that new JB album.
This weekend, the Biebs unexpectedly dropped the new slow-jam “Hard2FaceReality” (featuring Pooh Bear) to his followers on Twitter.
The two-minute track follows a troubling week for the Canadian singer, who on Wednesday apologized to people he offended by visiting Japan’s Yasukuni war shrine during a recent visit. The Shinto shrine in Tokyo honors 2.5 million war dead, including 14 convicted war criminals. China and South Korea in particular see Yasukuni as a symbol of Japan’s past militarism and see visits to it as a lack of understanding or remorse over wartime history. “I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry,” the Biebs later posted. The following day upon his return home from Japan, he was detained for questioning at LAX.
Within two hours of tweeting the SoundCloud link to “Hard2FaceReality,” Bieber’s message to his more than 51 million followers had already received 21,000 retweets. In the new romantic tune, fans speculate it’s about his on-and-off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez.
