Chris Brown’s assault case is going forward. Today a judge in Washington rejected the request to dismiss the case.
They called the incident “the most investigated misdemeanor of all time.”
But Judge Patricia Wynn agreed with prosecutors that they had a right to use the grand jury to assess the strength of their case.
“I am persuaded that there was no abuse,” Wynn said.
The case is scheduled to go to trial on April 17. A judge will hear the case, not a jury.
Chris and his bodyguard are accused of attacking the victim who was treated for a fractured nose and injuries to his face and head. The two allegedly punched the man after he tried to get in a picture Chris was taking with two of the alleged victim’s female friends.
At the time of the hearing, the U.S. Marshals Service was in the process of transporting Chris to Washington … even though he left on Thursday.
