A new, posthumous Michael Jackson album is hitting stores near you in May via Epic Records.
Xscape, which Timbaland is lead producer of, is a set of eight new “contemporized” Jackson songs. It will feature production from Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome “Jroc” Harmon, John McClain and many more.
“Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world,” L.A. Reid said in a release. “Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”
The songs were found during a search by L.A. Reid who was granted unlimited access by the singer’s estate to his archives.
A deluxe edition of Xscape will also included the original versions of the song. You can pre-order the standard and deluxe editions of Xscape via iTunes beginning April 1. Jackson’s last studio album was 2001′s Invincible.
