So Papoose is looking for a minute of the limelight, so here it is.
Papoose recently sat down with NY Daily News and revealed that it’s in fact him who’s the king of New York and not Jay Z. (big sigh … )
“Nobody is better than me — Jay-Z, nobody,” he said. “None are more lyrically inclined than me. None of them. I’m definitely the king of New York. I am the greatest out of New York. When I look in the mirror, I don’t see Jay Z — I see Papoose. More power to him, but he’s not better than me.”
“My pen game is the most immaculate,” Papoose said. “I bring the most to the table on every level, concept, substance.”
You’ll remember that Papoose also went at Kendrick Lamar and Drake on his “Control” freestyle to acknowledge his skills.
A big driver in all this could be the July release of Remy Ma, Papoose’s wife. Remy is serving time at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women for the shooting of Makeda Barnes-Joseph, who was accused of stealing $3,000 from her.
“That’s going to be a very special day for me,” said the rapper of his wife’s release. “They say I never smile, but they going to see me with a Kool Aid smile that day.”

No shade to Papoose’s talent … but why are these interviews necessary? If you’re that hot, then be hot and keep it pushing. Don’t tell me who you’re better than. That’s for me and all the people who enjoy this genre to decide.
