Shayla Stevens — who used to cheer for the Atlanta Falcons — sued Da Brat in 2009, while she was serving her prison sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
Today, the jury in the civil trial quickly reached a verdict.
The jury found Da Brat — real name Shawntae Harris — responsible for causing Stevens’ permanent facial scarring, neurological impairment, and severe mental pain.
This means Da Brat has to also cough up $3.7 million for the assault. Shayla Stevens, former Atlanta Falcons cheerleader, sued Da Brat in 2009 while the rapper was serving her prison sentence after pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
After letting go of an unequipped juror, the new jury has reached a verdict yesterday and found Da Brat responsible for causing Stevens’ permanent physical damage and neurological impairment.
