Jermaine Dupri has been hit with a $1 million civil lawsuit.
Radar Online reports that Jermaine’s former business partner, Eddie Weathers, filed the suit against him, alleging that he was never paid for a merger deal involving a company they both reportedly created, Dieniahmar Music, in 2005.
Weather also alleges that he was not named in a co-publishing deal done back in 2006 with EMI Music as co-owner with JD. Since Mariah Carey’s current manager was listed as the sole owner, 100% of the royalties went to Dupri and his business manager, Willie Carter. Weathers also claims that Dupri promised him $238,000 when he told him he was going to sell Dieniahmar Music to EMI Music in 2013, but only gave him $10k.
Court documents state that Jermaine, his business manager, and Dieniahmar owe Weathers $250,000 and all other profits that he is entitled to. Weathers is seeking $1 million in damages.
