After eight years of marriage, high school sweethearts Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are separating.
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they said in a joint statement.
Robin met Paula at just 14. The parents to three-year-old son Julian Fuego Thicke got married on June 11, 2005.
Despite many rumors of infidelity in recent months, Robin described Paula as the “love of the century.”
He also revealed he wrote his big hit, “Blurred Lines” about her.
“I don’t think people got it,” he told BBC’s Newsbeat, according to the Daily Mail. “I wrote it about my wife … she’s my good girl. And I know she wants it because we’ve been together for 20 years.”
