Quick Thoughts Vol. 5

Here are some quick thoughts on some current stories.

Kelly Talks Ozzy. Kelly Osbourne appears in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan addressing her father Ozzy Osborne’s drug relapse and addiction as well as her own.  Don’t have much to say about the article. But I do have two thoughts on the topic  1.) Good for Sharon (her mother and Ozzy’s wife) for standing her ground and leaving Ozzy shortly after his relapse. It’s so hard to do that to a loved one, but you have to be tough when it comes to harmful behavior.  She’s stood by his side and failing health when most (including yours truly) would have bounced out.  His end of the bargain is to stay sober – which I understand is a daily struggle.  Still there has to be boundaries.  2.) Doesn’t Kelly look good???  Wow.  I never think much of Kelly’s fashion choices, but she’s slaying here. Go Kells!!  Oh and by the way she dropped a hell of a line in the article. “People think this is my 15 minutes.  F–k you. I’ve got an hour.” Love it!!!

What can Rihanna smoke weed and I can’t?  Really??? This is the question disgraced former-Nickelodeon  actress Amanda Bynes asked after her recent arrest when complaints rolled in that she threw a bong out a high-rise apartment. Things got even more bizarre when she threw several twitter insults Rihanna’s way calling her ugly, comparing her to a dog and suggesting that Rihanna was attempting to pass herself as a white woman. I tried to ignore this whole saga but it looks like it’s never ending so let me just jump in.

Rihanna can smoke weed and you can’t Amanda for a quite a few reasons in no particular order:

1.) Because Rihanna’s a multi-platinum rock star that sells out international arenas.  When you start working again and bringing in the dollars associated with that type of success, you’ll notice that your standards would probably change as well.  Before anyone raises their hand, I’m not saying it’s right, but it is what it is.  Successful people often live by a different set of standards.

2.) Because Rihanna sits in the corner and smokes her blunt quietly.  With the exception of an Instagram pic here and there, she doesn’t cause any sort of chaos or trouble.  She just looks good while doing it.  And speaking of that….

3.) Because Rihanna looks good while doing it.  She’s an attractive woman who, right or wrong, does bring the sexy appeal of smoking from years ago back to the forefront.

4.) And finally last and most importantly Amanda, because you are on drugs far more hard and harmful that weed.  Despite the fact that Amanda claims she is allergic to alcohol and drugs, it’s clear that she’s under the influence of some sort of substance. I have no idea what that is, but something is making her post obscene tweets soliciting sex and insulting her peers randomly.  Rihanna is the latest, but she’s attacked Jay-Z, Jenny McCarthy, ex-boyfriend Kid Cudi in very, very crude ways.  I also find it odd that she refers to them all as ugly. What are we 5?  Hmmmm….let me be ugly with millions in my bank account.  I’ll take that.  Furthermore, and this is a side-bar:  What is it with the constant references to race in her rants?  Now I’m trying to be logical.  She’s clearly not in her right mind.  But the constant and venomous references of race are making give her the side-eye. Me no likey.  No ma’am.

Straw-ber-Rita Bud Light:  Margarita’s with a twist.  Has anyone tasted these yet?  Over the weekend I had my first and they are pretty good.  I think it’s my new house cocktail. Just in case you’re wondering, it doesn’t taste like beer at all. It’s true to the margarita flavor description. And since I hate the taste of beer, you can trust me on this.  It reminds you of a wine cooler, just a hair bit stronger. The margarita is packaged in these cute little 8 oz cans, but don’t be fooled.   By my second one it was starting to be lights out.

Investigators looking at possible Chris Brown hit and run.  Long story, short – Chris had a fender bender and reportedly gave that person the wrong insurance info, etc.  No big deal right?  Yes, very big deal if you’re on probation.  False information is the same as providing no information and could be viewed as a hit-and-run case.  In fact any sort of breaking of the law while you’re on probation is considered a violation of probation and could put him behind bars.  Now while given the immaterial nature of the accident, this may not land him in jail, but Chris Brown is targeted.  Right or wrong, someone’s not happy that this kid is walking the street and they’re watching every move he makes to make an example of him.  His camp should seriously have a come-to-Jesus talk with him.  He’s going down the O.J. path. He gets away with murder but then gets snatched up on a crazy robbery charge.  The sad part is no will care.  I’ve tried to give him a fair open shot myself, but he’s not ready or remorseful.  Unfortunately, jail would probably do him so good.
