In case you haven’t heard, Miley Cyrus is the new face for the Marc Jacobs new spring/summer 2014 campaign. But don’t expect hanging tongues and teddy bears. The first pic actually shows a somber Miley.
Shipwrecked on a beach, Miely looks defeated as she stares into the distance wearing a navy militia jacket, burgundy shorts, and embroidered booties.
Well, what you may not know is that Marc Jacobs’ longtime photographer, Juergen Teller refused to shoot her. “I have worked with Juergen for years and love him as an artist,” he told WWD. “He just didn’t want to shoot her.”
However, Marc went with his gut and chose Miley over Juergen, getting David Sim to shoot the campaign. “We all just love her and her entire being, her energy, her talent, her intelligence, everything,” Jacobs said. “There’s nothing I don’t like about her. She is just genuine and very natural.”
Luckily, the love is mutual. Miley’s been a front row dweller at his past fashion shows and famously worked his sheer mesh gown back at the 2013 Met Gala.
This girl stays winning. She’s rauchy and messy but I like her.
