Ahead of DJ Khaled’s upcoming album, Father of Asahd, he has created an ode to the most important person in his life — his 1-year-old son.
Over a montage of sweet home videos, Khaled mentions his parents and how he’s grateful for his lineage, particularly those who come after. On Asahd, the producer said his son is his biggest inspiration: “Every morning I tell Asahd, ‘I love you. I got you’… But the truth is, he’s got me.”
He ends the video with explaining the thought process behind the name of his new album, which is slated for a summer release. “My whole life I thought our parents give us our names…but here’s a major key. Our children give us the ultimate name, the greatest title, the highest honor. My son has given me my new name, father of Asahd.”
