Six years following the untimely and unjust murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin at the hands of George Zimmerman, JAY-Z has teamed up with Paramount Network to tell Martin’s story. On Monday (Feb. 26), Paramount Network released a 26-second trailer for the upcoming docuseries.
Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story will deal with more than just the tragic murder, but will also tell the surrounding story of the roles race, politics, power, money and the American criminal justice system played. The six part docuseries is based on the book Martin’s parents co-wrote: Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.
JAY-Z serves as an executive producer on the non-scripted project along with Sybrina Fulton, Tracy Martin, Chachi Senior, Michael Gasparro, Jenner Furst, Julia Willoughby Nason and Nick Sandow.
