It’s no secret that Cardi B, Post Malone, Lil Pump, and 21 Savage had a monstrous 2017. As we head into the new year, Forbes has recognized these artists (and more) as hip-hop’s new class of moneymakers as part of its newly-named Hip-Hop’s Future Moguls list, formerly known as Hip-Hop Cash Princes.
Forbes renamed their original male-centered roundup Hip-Hop Cash Princes to Hip-Hop Future Moguls as a push towards inclusivity and diversity, broadening this year’s criteria to include “age, ethnicity and gender,” making way for artists like Cardi B and Lizzo to appear on the list.
The full list includes Cardi B, Post Malone, Tyler the Creator, Playboi Carti, 21 Savage, Lizzo, Lil Pump, Vic Mensa and Dave East.
In order to be eligible for Future Moguls, nominees must be under age 30 and cannot have appeared in a prior Forbes’ class, even as members of a group.
