In a new video for Citizens of Woke Wonderland, rapper Remy Ma made an emotional and passionate announcement about women who may not be able to conceive.
Remy opened up about her own personal struggle with an ectopic pregnancy. Luckily, she had the finances for medical treatments, but being in that situation helped her recognize the larger issue. When she spoke publicly about her pregnancy, she realized how many women could have have children but are simply not financially stable enough to get the treatment or surgery that would allow them to.
“I’m trying to start my own fund right now,” she stated, “so that women who are like me, or have a similar situation to me, but they can’t afford it, could possibly get these procedures done and have children, because as a woman, that’s one of the things that you can do that no other being can do.”
