Blac Youngsta Reportedly Surrenders In Connection With Young Dolph Shooting

In a new twist, Blac Youngsta surrendered to Charlotte police on Tuesday (May 16) in connection with a February shooting of rapper Young Dolph.

In February of this year, Young Dolph‘s SUV was shot at over 100 times outside the annual CIAA event in Charlotte. His vehicle was luckily bulletproof, so nobody was harmed, but ever since, police have been pursuing suspects in the case. Enter Blac Youngsta.

TMZ reports Youngsta, along with two other men, surrendered to police after warrants were issued for their arrest in the investigation of the shooting. An official from the Mecklenburg County Jail confirmed the rapper born Sammie Marquez Benson was charged with six counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property and one count of felony conspiracy. Youngsta was later released from Mecklenburg County Jail at 2:07 p.m. He is scheduled for a court hearing Wednesday, May 17.

In a statement, Youngsta’s team claims lyrics from Dolph’s Bulletproof project were the basis for the warrants served: “Memphis-based rap artist Blac Youngsta has turned himself in on charges filed in Charlotte, N.C. The warrants served were based on lyrics from rapper Young Dolph’s Bulletproof Mixtape. Youngsta will await arraignment while he maintains innocence and no involvement with the incident.”
