Beyonce is the new face for H&M’s 2013 summer collection. She collaborated with the Swedish company not only on the ads, but had a hand in some of the designs as well so look to see a lot more of her in the near future. Now in the add, the silkish top and shorts are adorable. However, I personally won’t be fooled.
Am I the only who can’t find anything worth purchasing in H&M?
The clothes look awesome on the models – i.e. Beyonce and Madonna – but on the hangers the material is waaay too thin and almost never fits properly. At a discount price, it’s the epitome of getting what you pay for. It’s bad. I’m sorry. I’ve tried several times and I keep coming back to that same conclusion.
Now on the flip side, I am a Forever 21 girl. I heart that store. It first caught my attention maybe 4 years ago – give or take. I read this article in New York Daily News about this affordable retail store that was being sued by quite a few high-end fashion designers. I HAD TO SHOP THERE!! If this place was being sued then that told me that obviously the quality and designs had to be pretty spot on to be considered competition. And just as I suspected, that was the case.
If I have to be honest, H&M’s store presentation is far more attractive. There’s a lot more order. However, the search of Forever 21’s store clutter is so worth it. I can find a trendy blazer for the workplace – WITH a lining – and a cute outfit for a girl’s night out there. It’s a one-stop shop. And considering how rapidly trends change, the price point is spot on.
Let’s just say even Queen B’s persuasion will not lead me to H&M.
What I’ve found with H&M is that the only stores ever worth purchasing from used to be the ones in Germany.. then a little while ago the England stores started stocking cute tees, funky prints.. but now, it’s a jumble sale of mess for young teens who are trying to fit in by trying to stand out (if that makes sense) — Forever 21 all the way!
