He may be in rehab, but Chris Brown manages to stay in the headlines.
Yesterday, he filed an assault and battery lawsuit against Sha’keir Duarte, who claimed in an earlier suit that he was injured when a fight erupted between Chris and Frank Ocean’s (his cousin) entourages in January outside a West Hollywood studio.
Sha’keir sued Chris in August and accused him of being the aggressor in the fight. Chris’ countersuit, however, accuses Sha’keir of instigating the fight by pushing, kicking, punching and threatening to kill him.
Chris is seeking unspecified damages.
No criminal charges were filed over the fight, but Chris may face criminal penalties after he was arrested last month in Washington, D.C., for allegedly punching a man outside a hotel.
Chris remains on probation for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna and is due for a hearing in Los Angeles on Nov. 20, when the new case may be addressed. Brown spent a day and a half in custody and faces a misdemeanor battery charge over the incident.
He willingly entered rehab for anger management issues on Oct. 29.
Chris is the boy that cried wolf to me. Even if he didn’t instigate this battle, it’s difficult to give the benefit of the doubt. He’s don’t way too much. SMH… he has no intention of changing his life. It’s all a ploy to avoid jail.
