To honor the second anniversary of Laquan McDonald’s death at the hands of the Chicago Police Department, Vic Mensa has dropped a new video for his track “16 Shots.”
In a recent interview with Rap-Up, Vic shared that “16 Shots specifically was inspired by [his] time in the streets of Chicago after the murder of Laquan McDonald by a Chicago police officer, Jason Van Dyke.” He added, “I’ve been getting harassed and f**ked with by police since I was 11 or 12 years old. … So “16 Shots” is a record I’ve been wanting to make for years.”
