Congrats are in order for Wiz and crew. On Friday (Oct 7), it was revealed that after five years of independent distribution, Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Ent. has signed a label deal with Atlantic Records.
Since Taylor Gang’s inception in 2011, the label has steadily grown its roster — which includes Berner, Chevy Woods, Raven Felix, J.R. Donato, Tuki Carter and Sosamann and more.
“These guys are my family and friends first,” Wiz said in the press release. “Now we’re gonna take this shit to the next level.”
Taylor Gang co-founder Will Dzombak added, “This is a great step forward for Taylor Gang as we get ready to move into the new year and focus on growth; we are all very excited.”
On the Atlantic side of the deal, similar sentiments were expressed. “Wiz is an amazingly talented artist, songwriter and entrepreneur,” said Atlantic Records Chairman/COO Julie Greenwald.
She adds they are thrilled to welcome Taylor Gang to the Atlantic family, and that “We’ve been so proud to have him as an Atlantic recording artist for the past six years, during which he also built Taylor Gang into a powerhouse hip-hop brand with a phenomenal fan following.”
