More details have been revealed in the accident that took the life of rapper Shawty Lo on Wednesday (Sept. 21) in Atlanta. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said in statement that he died of “blunt force injury to the head.”.
“The driver, 40 year old Carlos Walker, lost control of his vehicle, a 2016 Audi, leaving the roadway and striking a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn and catch fire,” a police spokeswoman said. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead. Two women who were also in the vehicle sustained non life-threatening injuries.
According to published reports, arrangements have been set for Saturday (Oct. 1) at Atlanta’s Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
Shawty Lo is known for his 2008 hit “Dey Know.” He was also a member of D4L, the hip-hop group behind the 2005 chart-topper “Laffy Taffy.”
He leaves behind 11 children.
