Lauryn Hill will be hitting the road later this month.
The MLH Carvan: A Diaspora Calling! tour will pull elements from Hill’s inaugural Diaspora Calling! music festival held in Brooklyn in April and each show will include guest performances by artists “from throughout the African diaspora,” according to a press release.
“The MLH Caravan allows me to continue the theme of unity and celebration of the many facets of cultural and artistic beauty throughout the African diaspora while on tour this summer and fall,” said Hill in a statement. “In these days of tension, tumult and transition, an exchange of this kind can yield direction, expression, understanding and empowerment as well as connection, self Love and appreciation that hopefully overflows into our respective communities.”
Hill’s Diaspora Calling! festival included performers Machel Montano (Trinidad), Stephen “Ragga” Marley (Jamaica), Stonebwoy (Ghana) and others.
