Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Usher will headline the one-night 2016 Global Citizen Festival taking place on Sept. 24 at Central Park. Curated this year by Coldplay’s Chris Martin who serves as creative director, Major Lazer, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Metallica, and special guests will also perform at the outdoor concert.
Chelsea Handler, Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra, Salma Hayek, and Seth Meyers serves as hosts this year. Last year event was headlined by Beyoncé, who brought out FLOTUS Michella Obama, along with performing alongside Pearl Jam and Ed Sheeran.
Founded in 2012, the Global Citizen Festival is a non-profit project aimed at eliminated global poverty within the next 14 years. Supporters who want to attend the show will need to head over to the festival’s official website, where tickets can’t be bought but obtained for free by “completing actions to help promote and ensure that equitable and quality education is available to all.”
