It’s the beef that keeps on giving … Meek Mill and Drake. Finally the man that’s rumored to have ignited it all breaks his silence – DJ Drama.
In an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, Drama reveals, “I’m gonna say this and then we’re gonna put it to rest. My involvement in the situation was the fact that [Meek] thought he was getting dissed.” The line in question appears in “R.I.C.O.” – “The girl of your dreams to me is probably not a challenge.”
In an attempt to diffuse the tension, Drama told Meek the line was not a diss because Drake didn’t even write the lyrics. “I was like, ‘Bro, he’s not dissing you. He’s not dissing you… those weren’t technically his bars.’”
At that point, Meek tweeted out that Drake has a ghostwriter, and the beef escalated from there.
Drama went on to deny leaking any of the reference tracks, which caused a stir. “Ask Flex where he got the records from, he didn’t get them from me. Go ask Meek where he got the records from, he didn’t get them from me. It goes against my business, and it goes against my ethics.”
