WATCH Beyonce Perform A cappella Version of “Freedom”

Beyonce "Freedom"

In the wake of the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, Beyoncé revised the performance of her concert in Glasgow Thursday night (July 7) to include a tribute to the victims of police brutality.

Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were just two of the hundreds of names projected across Beyoncé’s stage. The audience held up their phones in remembrance. Bey then launched into a raw, passionate a cappella version of her hit “Freedom,” which she recently sang at the BET Awards with Kendrick Lamar.

This powerful tribute comes just hours after she shared an equally powerful letter on her website, which calls on police to “stop killing us” and asks fans to contact their local legislators to make their voices heard.
