Updated at 3:45 pm EST: Chris Brown was arrested in Washington D.C. this morning for FELONY assault after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel.
TMZ reports that Chris got into an argument with a man outside the W Hotel at 15th and K and allegedly began punching him. The incident occurred at about 4:30 AM.
Law enforcement sources say Brown did not appear to be under the influence of anything at the time of the incident.
Chris is currently in custody. The second person involved is said to be under evaluation at a D.C. hospital. Here’s what I’ve just learned about the origin of the scuffle:
The alleged victim told TMZ he and a friend were at the W when they saw 2 women about to take a picture with Chris. The victim says he and his buddy photo bombed the 2 women and Chris grew angry, punching him in the face and breaking his nose.
Law enforcement sources and the alleged allege that before striking the man, Chris said, “I’m not into this gay s**t, I’m into boxing.”
Sources connected with Chris told TMZ a different story. They maintain that the victim was not trying to take a pic with Chris. Instead he was trying to get on Chris’ tour bus and Chris was simply trying to stop a trespasser.
Chris, of course, is still on probation from the Rihanna case. If he’s charged in this recent incident, this could be grounds for violating his probation — which means he could be sentenced to prison for nearly 4 years … worst case scenario for him.
The details of this incident are still developing.
