YG, Joey Badass NYC Shows Cancelled After T.I. Shooting Incident

imageLast week, after one person was killed and three people injured during T.I.’s concert at NYC’s Irving Plaza, the impact of the shooting is spreading throughout the hip-hop community.

Live Nation has cancelled six upcoming concerts, including live shows by YG and Joey Bada$$. “In light of last week’s tragic event, we are acting with an overabundance of caution and coordinating a going forward strategy with the New York Police Department that may also include a curfew,” a spokesperson for popular venues Irving Plaza and Gramercy Theatre tells Rolling Stone in a released statement.

“Because these discussions with New York Police Department are ongoing, we will be postponing a few of our upcoming shows.”
Shows by Joey Bada$$ (June 2), Mac Miller (June 3), Vince Staples (June 4), and YG (June 6) have been cancelled, plus postponed concerts by Guns N’ Roses cover band Appetite for Destruction and Canadian rock duo Black Pistol Fire.

On Monday, (May 30), Troy Ave was formally charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon in last week’s shooting. He pled not guilty to all charges in Manhattan Criminal Court following his release from hospital.
