Complex is expanding into live events with the launch of ComplexCon, a two-day festival focused on pop culture, art, music, style and sports.
The event is set to run Nov. 5-6 in Long Beach, Calif., and will feature programming curated by Pharrell Williams, who will serve as cultural director and host committee chair.
“I’m inspired by a myriad of different events I’ve had the fortune of being a part of, whether they’ve focused on art, design, music, food or science,” said Williams. “When i am OTHER connected with Marc Ecko and the Complex team, we were instantly aligned — we wanted to combine a little bit of all these elements and create a unique, new initiative.”
The fest will feature concerts, shopping, panels, art and food, among other experiences. New York’s Comic-Con producer ReedPop will work with Complex to put on the event, and contemporary artist Takashi Murakami has joined the host committee alongside Williams.
